Cyberpunk 2077’s Xbox refund policy comes to an end on July 6

Xbox has announced that it will be ending its refund scheme for Cyberpunk 2077, with CD Projekt Red’s RPG coming back under Microsoft’s standard digital game refund policy on July 6.

The news came in an updated Xbox Support article (spotted by VG 24/7) which reads: “The team at CD PROJEKT RED continues to work hard to improve the experience of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox players and has made a number of updates. Given these updates, Microsoft will be returning to our standard digital game refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 on July 6 for both new and existing purchases.”

Following the deadline, any digital purchases of the game will be considered final just as with any other downloaded title. However of course, there may be extenuating circumstances. The refund policy was first expanded specifically for Cyberpunk 2077 back in December, allowing almost anyone to claim their money back for the game, no questions asked. This was due to widely-reported performance issues when trying to play the game on a standard Xbox One console.

However, CD Projekt Red have continued to update the game since, with the game even earning a return to the PlayStation Store for the first time since it was pulled around the same period the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox refund policy was established.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC with a next gen upgrade patch for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in the works for later in 2021.
